Sassy and Spike

It was a perfect evening and we sat outside sipping our wine speaking with Will  who had been away house sitting and entertaining Tristan, a fourteen year old former neighbor.

Being visually impaired, it was quite awhile before Spike realized that Sassy the three legged cat was there. Sassy on the other hand was fully aware of Spike but also of the fact that she had the upper hand, so to speak, as long as she stayed put. The drama continued for quite awhile as Spike circled the couch poking  his nose under the couch and jumping backward when Sassy hissed and spit at him.

Eventually Sassy came out and jumped into Dana's lap. She was soon followed  by Spike who only wanted to sniff and try to figure out what/who she was. She (and Dana too) had had enough when Spike started licking her face and jumped onto the lattice topped table,  staring down at him as he sat under the table staring up at her.

It wasn't exactly serene, but it was certainly entertaining. 
No animals were harmed in the introduction process or Sassy's eventual escape to the house.
