Miniature version

We had a visit today from a cousin of N’s. They used to know each other quite well in their early years, but recently they only met at funerals of aged aunts, and there haven’t been many of those recently. Today George brought his partner Claudine. She and I listened as the cousins remembered their childhoods, and before long moved on to comparisons of their National Service days. They remember so much detail and find it endlessly fascinating. It was good to meet George again, and now we can put a face to the name on the Christmas card.
After they had gone I dodged the showers outside to take a photo of my miniature lilac. Not as fragrant, or as beautiful, as the full size version, but more compact.
