The Pentland Hills

The Pentland Hills from Leadburn as seen on my commute to work this morning. It was an interesting journey, the roads being in a fairly treacherous state but the views of the snowy landscape were stunning.

The Pentlands Hills run for 20 miles to the south-west of Edinburgh. They have been the landscape of my commuting and my life for the best part of 10 years. I have seen them in all weathers but its when they are covered in snow that I think they are most beautiful - particularly when you can see the red sun disappearing behind them on a winter's afternoon - special times.
