Another birthday

Today was my husband’s birthday - it’s hard to believe it’s been a year since the last one which was in lockdown. The forecast wasn’t great so we decided to keep things low key. He was up late watching the ice hockey after Eurovision so it was quite welcome after all! Some friends dropped over this morning and instead of a walk to a local coffee shop we had coffee at ours and stayed dry!

I baked a mocha coffee walnut cake and we did nip out for a walk this afternoon in between showers. Mum came up for dinner and we had a nice meal together.

So, that’s one full week of garden leave complete. Last week I had a haircut, lunch with some other colleagues who have recently left due to redundancy, surprised a friend with a visit and did some gardening between showers! I don’t have as much in the diary this coming week but I do have a long to do list so hopefully I can tick a few things off! And tomorrow I get my second vaccine so that’s good!
