Former Airfield
I joined Mrs K for a separate-cars Costa with Bern and Jan this morning before walking back home with Millie pups, about 2 miles. On route I captured this panoramic view of the former Filton Airfield, probably most famous for Concorde's flights from here and especially the final flight for 216, now housed in the adjacent Bristol Aerospace Museum.
To the left of the picture are the Brabazon Hangars, mainly obscured by a fleet of lorry trailers and to the right, at the end of the 1 1/4 mile former runway, are building materials being accumulated for a substantial new housing estate and accompanying infrastructure. Progress some will argue.
On a positive note, this afternoon my team, West Ham United, won 3-0 to secure 6th place in the Premier League and a place in the Europa League for next season. It was a remarkable and unexpected outcome given that they were nearly relegated last year.
