Chocolate brownies

Today was definitely a cooking day.  It rained a lot!  Been at home all day apart from a quick trip to M&S to buy chocolate and chocolate.  Until I read the recipe I never realised just how wicked brownies are - virtually nothing but fat, sugar.  And CHOCOLATE!

So here they are, my first brownies.  The how-to is from Victoria Hall's This is Gluten-Free baking book.  Pretty gorgeous recipe.

Anyway, this afternoon V (sis) and Jax came round for a cuppa and, yes, brownies.  She brought us a hugely tall and very pretty bunch of larkspur and a copy of The New Yorker with a article on the Cerne Abbas Giant in it, which both K and I will enjoy.  And Jax and Hazel played their usual quiet game of steal whatever toy the other one picks up  ;((
