At the nest...

The female Oystercatcher on the right is sitting tight. Her eggs must be due for hatching very soon, if they have not already done so. The male is very attentive and keeps away any danger.
In the same wet field, the Lapwings were chasing the pony that was lumbering around too close to their nests too.
The Buzzard was hovering above the drier pasture, watching for voles or beetles.
Longtailed Tits were in the trees and the Blue Tit sitting on a clutch in the dead tree hole.
The Woodpecker was active too.
