Mistake

Today was one of those ‘what shall we do days?’  I got up early and spent an hour in the garden while the sun was out.  During this time my OH had breakfast and took a call from a shop in Tenterden where we had spotted some nice lamp bases.  They had managed to get a second one from the supplier.  We decided to have a drive down to collect lamps and wander the high street.  Arrived, parked and the heavens opened.  It always seems to rain in Tenterden?  

We killed some time in an Italian coffee shop (lovely panini) before going back to collect lamps.  Didn’t realise they did not come with shades so decided to drive to a retail park in Ashford to look for some.  That was the big mistake, we should have gone home............ after purchasing shades we got on the M20 and sat, and sat, and sat.  Lorry fire, both carriageways closed.  OH snoozed and I scrolled on my phone.  It was t too bad - only an hour and it was raining so we wouldn’t have been able to do much else.  

Quite pleased with the lamps, but OH is convinced they are not straight.  Poor (Italian) workmanship.  But are they bad enough to take back?  No, we’re going to live with them.
