Transferable skill
I've not laughed as much as we did last night in a long time, friendships cemented, begun and celebrated.
Yet there was also the sadness and pain that inevitablely arises when we international Mountain folk meet at how our own and so many of our colleagues lives have been so irreparably damaged by the dishonest callous farce of Brexshit. Last night we sat together and read a mutual friend's far too familiar open letter of how her award winning eco tourism business is painfully dying and her years of effort and good work turning to ash.
We probably drank a bit more than we should.
Fortunately this morning we met more Mountain folk and wandered around fabulous Cornish moors and mines as I delivered a full day's lichens workshop (they're usually half days) somewhere I've never been before (they're usually in my back yard). Truth be told I've been a little apprehensive about it but a day that just got nicer & nicer and a lovely bunch of folk and fabulous finds in old weathered oak trees all combined to make it an apparent success.
Phew. Now there's just the long long long drive North.
