Another day - another Bothy
This time with Haweswater in the background.
We came over to this slightly inaccessible area on the East of the Lakes to do two Wainwrights - Branstree and Selside Pike which bring our total to 176 out of 214.
The weather wasn't good with sleet on the tops and the fells themselves were unremarkable.
On the way down, however, we passed several derelict cottages which looked fantastic with the lake behind.
Haweswater has a fascinating history. It is a man made lake formed controversially between 1929 and 1957 when a dam was built and the valley flooded to provide a water supply for Manchester. In the process, the villages of Measand and Mardale Green were flooded and the residents evacuated.
It is now a beautiful area on the edge of the Lake District.
When the water level falls at times of drought, the remains of the villages are exposed.
