Hugs indoors!
We had a stressful drive to Newcastle for my eye appointment -road closures, traffic lights for road works, heavy traffic etc. I made it just in time. I was there close on 3 hours, having various scans, tests etc and then I saw the doctor. Unfortunately I do have glaucoma so have to put drops in my eyes every night forever. The won’t cure it, but should keep it from deteriorating further. I’m so glad I managed to get the appointment previously I was to have had a year to wait by which time this could have progressed further. As I had thought, I do have capsule hazing on my reading eye. The doctor was about to refer me for laser treatment when she said she’d just check if there was anyone free to do it there and then. There was and now I can see to read again. Hurrah. The bad news is my peripheral vision is poor and I must inform
DVLA. I might not be fit to drive. They will send me for a peripheral test of both eyes together as we don’t drive with one eye. So fingers crossed.
We picked Ella and Nathaniel up from
School. They both had got 10/10 for their spellings. We took them home and they had a bit of food before we set off for cricket. We got halfway before learning it was cancelled as it was raining.
We got a delicious Indian takeaway. It was such a treat to sit round the table together. The children are so grown up now, chatting about the causes of WW1 and the Benin bronzes. It was wonderful.
