Manchester/Siberia
Oh my, I realise talking about the weather is a cliche but what in the world was going on with the weather in Manchester today? Sunshine and blue skies one minute and then the wind would pick up and from nowhere (it seemed), a snow storm would descend, whipping flakes around in a whirlwind effect that was almost violent at times. I took this blip pic across the courtyard near the Great Northern Tower in the city centre.
I managed to get caught in it and literally had to hold onto a parked car at one stage for fear of being carried off into the distance. I'd just come out of a lecture I'd given to the PR students at Manchester Met, my second in a month - and it went really well.
Mum and Dad appeared like angels at the front door this morning to take Audrey for the day. Now I do love her (I really do) but having just had a weekend from hell looking after her whilst full of flu myself, I was relieved to have a day off today. And more importantly, to get out of the house. Even if I was feeling significantly under par.
Audrey is slowly improving and has at least had a little bit more to eat today. She's nowhere near well yet but am hopeful. This has been her worst illness since she was born. I don't think I'll ever forget it.
Luckily my husband is off tomorrow so maybe he'll give me some time to recuperate from my illness too. In bed preferably.
