Non traditional bluebells
A final half day walk before home time primarily to see the Rannerdale Bluebells, non-traditional in the way they were growing on the open fellside, looking from a distance more like heather or lavender.
After crossing the freely flowing Cinderdale beck (confirming my 20 year boots are still water tight, yesterdays’ leakage was almost certainly due to the watery sitting down scramble descending Castle Crag) we walked alongside the bluebells and through the valley into Buttermere where the Scale Force waterfall was quite a sight after all the rain yesterday.
A Higham lunch ( which included bread and butter pudding) and a straightforward drive home, for another week in level 3 lockdown. I’ll get out on Tuesday when I go the Louisa Jordan for my second jag, and I will be making a day for it, for sure.
