Child art

This hangs on an obscure wall of our bedroom, and I rarely notice it. It’s a pen-and-ink drawing I made when I was eleven, which I titled “Alone in a Dream.” (This information is given on the back, in my neat, childish printing.) As you can see, I was going through a Picasso period — so much so that the central figure having the dream is, like Picasso, a man. Or so it would seem from his beard. Very strange.

The extra is a crayon drawing my son made when he was six. He titled it “Self-Portrait as Monkey.” (Again, this is stated on the back of the frame.) It hangs, much more prominently, in our living room, and I often look at it.
