Osteoclast.

There was a time when I would get very excited about Liverpool Biennial. The last couple have been very underwhelming, have missed tricks and been short on public art.

At least this one, delayed for a year, has rectified the last of those complaints. That, of itself isn’t good enough and the ridiculous artspeak about this particular exhibit is a case in point.

Apparently the bone shaped kayaks remind us of our maritime heritage and the fragility of the human body. This does the complete opposite. It’s noodling for the sake of it and reminds me of nothing more than weird red things plonked outside.

The Biennial is a chance for Liverpool to make a mark and too often recently, they have managed to miss that goal by quite a long way.

I shall go and see some more tomorrow and hope to be proved wrong.
