Gardening galore

Slept pretty well again, woke earlyish, up just after 8, downstairs and breakfasted before 9.

Made a couple of phone calls, paid the balance to the Funeral Directors, had a brief conversation about hubs ashes.....plenty of time, still lots to think about.

Left the house just before 10.30 as a dark cloud passed over, a few drops of rain, but thankfully it didnt amount to anything. Met up with our friends who make up the rest of the Patients Panel at our GP practice for coffee, sat inside Costa, which made me feel,slightly emotional, as did seeing these guys, a bit choked and watery eyed, but no actual tears today. Spent a nice hour and a half catching up, we talked about hub a lot too. Walked back home, had lunch, a jqcket potato with cheese chopped ham and spring onions, melted under the grill.......really nice!

Rhen it was onto some serious work in the garden, cut the front lawn, followed by the back lawn. My other neighbour, L, had offered to help with the remainder of the pond, somhe came round and got,stuck in, whilst I mowed the lawn. Todays blip is the back garden after Id finished, you can just about make out the stripes ;-) Between us we filled the garden bin to the brim, being emptied tomorrow thankfully.

I did quite a bit of tying in, bearig in mind the winds that have been forecast for the coming days :-( The roses on the arch and the clematis on the back trellis. Fished out the debris from the pond......there is still a bit more root mat to be cleared out, but its almost there now. Still pretty full of water, likely to get even more over the next few days by the sounds of things too :-(

Round to daughters for tea and games night, nice tuna pasta and salad, 2 games of rummikub, daughter won both!! Then we settled down to Handmaids Tale, problem with the series link so that scuppered our plan, so we chatted and half watched location location location......well to be fair, was me doing most of the chatting ;-) Left just after 9, home, put the bins out, made a cuppa, got changed, watching MoTD at the mo, whilst uploading this.

Supposed to be meeting ip,with some camera club colleagues to orrow for the first time in over 12months, but am half expecting it to be cancelled as the forecast looks awful......we shall see what tomorrow brings!
