That time of year

The John o' Groats passenger ferry came into the bay this morning and took away the pontoon. The ferry only runs from June to September so the pontoon spends the winter here, where it is relatively sheltered.

Some of my wild weather blips in the winter have shown huge waves breaking over it, so not that sheltered!

When the ferry comes and tows it away, it is the start of the summer!
