Despite the snow on the ground, spring really is on it's way. Snowdrops and Croci popping into bloom everywhere, and as it was Mother's Day yesterday all the women at church were presented with a pair of daffodils by the children. There were some left over so i took a pair for my flatmate's girlfriend who is staying here at the moment. She is Russian, and apparently in Russia an even amount of flowers means death or funerals. So she thought it was very odd that i was presenting her with a pair of daffodils. Oh well, you learn something new everyday...
