Moshi Moshiiiii
Right, time to update on my two week holiday, definitely did way too much to remember, I'll fill in on what I can as a break from my Warwick essays and apologies for lots of photos of sunshine and boats!
The week started off as a pretty lazy one, woke up late at 10ish and had a long breakfast with bread and tea and coffee which was lovely. We passed the morning pretending to work. Well Ludovic did some work whilst Elsa gave me a dictee to test my French. Possibly the hardest exercise I've ever done! Around 12 we headed into Aix and I got a tour of the sights - L&E's university, college, school, Elsa's Dad's school, old house etc etc, all the important sights! We went to a chinese for lunch and I had an amazing spring roll, which we ate sitting on the side of a fountain in the sun. After exploring the shops we met Marion and went for tea and scones in an English tea room which was cute. I was shown the lycee which both Cezanne and Zola went to and we took a tour of the cathedral (a tour in which the guide described each and every pillar in the court yard individually, there were around 40. It was a long hour of my life!)
In the afternoon Ludovic finally got what he had been waiting the last 7 weeks for... MOSHI, a form of Japanese cake make from sweetened haricot rouge. It was a weird experience but I've got to say they were suprisingly nice. We headed home and made a miso soup which was really lovely. We were joined by Marion and Elsa's friend Audrey who had the largest dog I've ever seen. Luckily he was pretty harmless and Audrey was great with lots of amusing stories about the flooding of her house and the bills she had mistakenly had to pay. We finished the evening with tea drinking in front of the film Ensemble, C'est Tout. I still love Audrey Tautou!
