We did one of our river walks today to see the Bluebells, they are going over now but still pretty (in extras). This Hawthorn or May caught my eye along the way, it's such a delicate and pretty little flower with a sweet scent. I didn't realise they had red and black stamens. We got back home just ahead of hail and rain, good timing. I don't know if it's classed as a wild flower, but I've tagged it anyway, I will have to be disqualified if it isn't.
I think the old saying 'Cast not a clout 'til May is out' refers to the blossom not the month.
