Protected!

This ancient Olive tree is in front of the Casa de Cultura,
 in Alfaz del Pi....
It is more than 300 years old! 
The tree which is  7 metres tall, has a gnarled bark and knotted branches, 
but is still healthy and produces shoots at its base.

The tree was moved to its new location,  to offer it more protection....
and to put it in a more public and accessible place, 
so that citizens can more easily enjoy seeing some of their own ‘local history’
