Roll out the barrels ...

I had to negotiate double parked brewery drays on my way into town this morning. The sound of barrels being rolled over cobbles has not been heard around these parts for a very long time. The reopening of indoor hospitality had finally arrived for the whole of Scotland save Glasgow and Moray.

On our afternoon walk we went by our nearest pub. It was open and the happy hubbub of drinkers spilled out into the street. One of our friends and partner were sitting outside enjoying their drinks in the open air. Enjoying the atmosphere but minimising the risk! A sensible strategy in the current unstable spread of the virus.

An online editorial meeting for our community newspaper this evening.

My blip taken on our walk shows three things: 1. An empty road at the height of the evening rush hour. 2. The appalling state of Edinburgh’s roads and 3 the dark clouds heralding continuing unseasonal spring weather.
