Mandarin Duck #58

The weather looked a bit iffy this morning so I finished the laundry and did a few jobs before popping out to Yarrow Valley Country Park in search of dipper babies. I'd seen them on FB yesterday but we were out of luck. There were a pair of dippers at the weir which is where they chicks were seen, but there was no sign of them today. Luckily we had a couple of minutes with one of the mandarins before it flew off into the woods - our first proper sighting, so I'm happy. 
It was a lovely couple of hours watching the dippers and wagtails at the weir.
