And I know at a glance that I don't stand a chance

We were listening to the radio yesterday; Paul Gamboccini's Pick of the Pops.  We love guessing which year it was.   My Perfect Cousin, Mirror in the Bathroom,  Out of My Life,..

I was gone, away in another place and time, and then this one came on....  I turned to himself and said, "this is the song i played over and over, when you left me for that other woman, it was my go to song, to get over the hurt and the pain ....

And he looked at me and said "that time I left you in YOUR dream?"

Well, yes of course, but it was a very, very real dream.

I'll not tell you what year it was, if you want to contemplate for yourself.

I hadn't met Himself.   I was young, and wild and crazy.  Hadn't left School, hadn't discovered the joys of drinking and men.   The songs might have been about heartbreak and love and joy - but in my heart at that young age - they were only about what might be coming my way. And that was good enough for me.

We had the best day at the allotment today.   I planted up some community pots, to make the place pretty don't you know. I planted caulis, broccoli, brussel and cabbage,.  himself moved all the potatoes out of the poly tunnel, and weeded the onions.  Then he heaped all the ground sown potatoes.  And I planted A greta and a willy, and 18 sweet peas.   Then we found lots of baby pears starting to grow.  Then we came home and potted up flowers, planted more peas, more cabbages, and generally had a lovely day together.
