A day in the life

Orchids and scents

The walking-group had decided to go for a walk in a certain nature reserve called "Nun valley",  not because it has anything to do with nuns, more because of a plant called "Nunneört", .Nun herb' Coridalis cava. The purpose was to get there after the rain to experience the  scent from the moist soil and all the flowering plants and trees along the path. When we got there there was still a bit of rain in the air but after a while we had an amazing walk along the two kilometre path. Nightingales from all directions were competing about territory, they were madly singing their heart out. only ten metres away from each other, I've never heard anything like it.

After our 'fika', coffee and sandwiches, we continued to a field close by where orchids grows in masses. The first ones out are "S:t Peters keys" , 'Orchis mascula', and "Adam and Eve", 'Orchidaceae dactylorhiza' see extras. Paired with the orchids grows "Mandelblomma", 'Saxifraga granulata'  The rain came back before we headed for home after a brilliant short walk for the senses.
