A crappy but very much appreciated job

I said to Brian, the Roto Rooter man: this is such a gross job, thanks for doing it. He said: I know it's not very glamorous but I love what I do. How super lucky for the rest of us is that?! He had the 75 year old main drain cleared and running in no time.

Every time he and his fellow pipe warriors come out, it's a whopping $270 dollars. Settling drain lines and old clay pipes are delicate things so we promised him that we would use this "pipe shield" product he convinced us we should have. Hmmm. If all the neighbors went in on one of these, we may never see another Roto Rooter van in our neighborhood again.

Having to move the washer and dryer for him to work has triggered my Rambo cleaning instincts so I'm starting the pre-trip swamping out process very early.
