Maypril Showers

Maypril continues with sudden heavy downpours and then some brief bursts of sunshine.  The forecast says that we may get thunder and lightning this afternoon.  Lovely. 

Looking lovely, if a little battered by the rain, is the flag iris - like a confection of colourful tissue paper.

We were originally due to meet our son James,  his wife Katie and our nephew Will for lunch at a pub garden in the New Forest today, but we decided we needed to rearrange given the forecast, the pub having said that it didn't have outdoor shelter for diners.  With what seems to be happening with the weather I think we've made the right call this time.
