Sticking it

This chap did manage to remain standing.

It's the Boardriders Battle at Newie beach this weekend.  It is a team based competition of different Boardrider clubs around Australia.   Merewether was in the final but alas they came third this year.  The title was taken out by North Narabeen.  There was a blimp, sharks, dolphins and all sorts of onlookers as you can see from the extras.

I love that Woolies was a sponsor and had fresh free apples for anyone.  There was also a beach cleanup and lots of good stuff for the environment.  Hyundai was a sponsor and the blimp had a key to a car attached to it and was sent out to the surfers who had to grab the key while they were getting some air.  One of the extra is a chap who had grabbed the key.  There were a couple of cars there, all electric. The only down side was the breaks were a bit out today, a little far for the reach of the big gun.
