Catalogue Wall - Edinburgh Printmakers
Catalogue Wall by Mark Doyle was commissioned by Edinburgh Printmakers in 2019 for their new premises at Castle Mills, Fountainbridge. The building was the Headquarters of the North British Rubber Company (NBRC) from 1857 to 1966 and the artist wanted to create work that referenced this history. Each of the 45 panels feature elements associated with the NBRC and rubber production such as welly boots and hot water bottles! It's on the west wall of the building but it can't really be seen from Dundee Street, you need to go round to the canal side.
After my morning run I spent the rest of the day in the courtyard garden doing battle with the overgrown hebe shrubs.
