Chapman Butchers

I did a Blip of the butchers at Chapmans round the corner a few days ago. But I omitted to post a shot of the lynchpin of the whole operation, Sue Chapman. She has sat in her little booth handling the money for as long as I have lived in the area and is always ready with a smile and friendly word.

The butchers call over the price of everything and Sue writes it down on a note, managing to juggle multiple bills when there are several customers at the counter. 

You can see from all the photos and calendars on the walls that there is a long family history at this business. I am not a huge meat eater but always pop in for a Sunday joint or midweek pie and ham.
