Feeling It Tonight

The two things that seem to fill my days are Paddy the dog and my new found love of gig rowing so today’s Blip will be gig rowing.

The initial rush of rowers where we had enough to crew two gigs has slowed so that we now have enough for one, not Saturdays though, whether it’s the early starts or the fact that it’s a Saturday we have three or four and rely on the experienced rowers and coxswains who are coaching us to crew so we can get out.
So this evening we launched from Kiln Quay, Flushing, rowed around in the harbour to warm up before heading out towards Pendennis Point where we rounded Black Rock and headed back. I thoroughly enjoy it, you get into the stroke and it’s trance like, time passes and you don’t realise the effort you are expending, well that’s the way it is for me, not sure about the others.
