Return Visit

I had my second lesson for playing bowls this morning. There's a lot to get right but so far it's really enjoyable and lovely to be doing something completely different. It's a very friendly club so I'll get to know more people as well.

Final preparations for my third judging session of the week this evening. A different type of competition as it was a Panel of 3. Normally this would be done with prints - and would be better that way - but of necessity it was digital this evening. It will be great to get back to seeing prints!

On my way home from bowls I stopped at the deserted care home I first visited on 26th December 2018. It really hit me emotionally all that time ago and I felt just the same today. Looking at the continued neglect, and even stronger deterrents to vandalism, I was still consumed by the misery and unhappiness I had felt the first time. I thought I might be more emotionally detached after all this time, but no. The ghosts of the past remain.
