Not queen Anne's lace but

cow parsley  (Anthriscuss sylvestris) - the earliest of the family to flower.  I have been corrected by miss winterfinch. It has several other names which are not so nice - Adder's meat, Devil's meat and Bad man's oatmeal!  There are many members of the family which are not so nice and having poisonous properties so the names may have originated from that.  The hollow stems make excellent pea shooters
