Coffin Road

The Coffin Road just outside Balloch is part of the Three Lochs Way which V and I did today – the first leg from Balloch on Loch Lomond to Helensburgh. It’s our intention to compete the remaining three stages in the next couple of months.
A scenic straightforward walk, we should have detoured from the John Muir Way, taking instead the Camis Eskan path as we approached Helensburgh and we would have avoided a tedious walk alongside a busy road into the town centre.
Decent flat white in a café just off the main square rounded off a good days walking.
Returned home to the news that Glasgow will remain in level three and furthermore people are asked not to travel in or out of the area. Potentially this has scuppered my plans for next week, save for the fact that where I am going is classed as an educational institution and therefore falls into the permitted essential travel category. I’ll phone them and if they are happy to have me I will go – there have been no Covid cases in our neighbourhood area for the last 4 weeks. It was also confirmed that my walking trip to the Lofoten Islands has been cancelled, which was not a surprise.
Grr…..
More fox cub watching is required to restore mood.
