Lone tree

I think it's a sycamore but the leaves weren't quite out so it was hard to be to be certain.
We met a friend near West Linton and had a 10 mile walk round and up one of the outlying Pentland Hills. There were some excellent, though not spectacular, views, one of the main range from our top and the valley we returned by, is in the extras. A pleasant and varied walk
The weather forecast was for grey, 9C, and likely rain later. It started grey but gradually improved to mainly sunny and 13C.
There was quite a bit of history with ancient cairns and burial cists, and a section on  Roman Road. We also went through Garvald where there is a care facility for people with learning disabilities that is based on the Rudolf Steiner principles.
It was great to meet up again and share a not-too-strenuous walk in lovely surroundings.
