Pied Flycatcher

There have been quite a few of these reported so it was one of the birds I was on the lookout for when I cycled out to Stenness. I walked up to Russadale, it is one of the best local spots for cuckoos, and heard my first sedge warbler of the year. At the top of the track is an old slate quarry with a pool of water. On bushes overhanging the water was this handsome flycatcher.
