The streets of Chiang Mai
Hello everyone, I am still here. We are well and safe. However, we are experiencing a partial lock down. Restaurants are takeaway only, swimming pools and gyms are closed. Shops are open and so are hairdressers.
This is a shot of a local street that used to be very busy, the only places open now are the Second Hand book shop and a clothing shop. Even the Temple is closed to visitors. The nagas (serpents) that you can see are outside a now closed massage shop. Massage shops can only offer foot massages, so most have chosen to shut. Hubby has a bit of a social life as he is the one who goes out to get our evening meal, so he gets to chat with our friends at the various restaurants. A couple of evenings ago he was getting us Italian food when the lady who is the co-owner of the Burmese restaurant walked in. She is a very attractive lady. On seeing hubby, to the amazement of the staff, she immediately engaged him in conversation asking what he had ordered, what wine he recommended. And what cheese. So in spite of everything we still have things to laugh about. Back at the condo we all agree that basically life is boring at the moment. We are now in the rainy season and the rain keeps finding hubby. He has been busy going around the local hospitals trying to find out about vaccinations, yesterday he got caught in a heavy cloud burst that soaked him and the reception staff at the hospital were confused by how wet he was as the sun was shining and they had not seen or heard any rain. Life goes on.
I hope that you are all well and staying safe.
