Queen Ann's lace
This is what my mother used to call Cow Parsley (although strictly speaking it refers to Wild carrot) and it is a much prettier name. I usually blip lily of the valley on this day - her favourite flower - to remember my mother as it is the date of her birthday. She would have been 100 today . But the weather has been so cold no flowers have yet appeared on the lily of the valley in my garden, nor in her garden in Berkshire as her neighbour usually sends me a photo of them flowering in my mother's old garden. So today I shall remember her as the Queen Ann's Lace is just beginning to flower along Louth canal.
