A Rather Wan Smile & A Weepy Eye, London
Today's image reflects how I've been feeling over the past few days. Trying to keep a smile on my face while worrying about the work situation and dealing with the beginnings of hay fever and having the heaviness of a stressful kind of tiredness. The latest load of old piffle we've been told is that we will no longer be working for experts and departments but alongside them in a seemingly more detached way through another layer of management. Also, we will be judged on KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and not with common sense. It's enough to make you weep with anger, frustration and a weary sadness that it's all so demotivating. Yet, today, under difficult circumstances me and the Impressionist Paintings tech worked perfectly well as a team handling and shooting some very fragile and expensive works of art with no interference and direct communication with the experts and cataloguers to get the job done. Trust people to do the job, delegate and give out a bit of praise and it all works rather well. Who knew!
Thanks everyone for your comments on my previous two images. I promise to reply when I'm a bit less out of sorts. Come on the weekend!
