Walk in the woods
Last night's thunderstorms were heavy, overhead, and I wondered whether or not the quince blossom in the garden would survive. Most of it did, even if a little the worse for wear (extra). Fortunately a lot of the flowers haven't fully opened yet.
It's been a quiet day, and I met Marie, an old friend, for an early walk in Ecclesall woods. Sunlight was catching the drifts of bluebells. As ever, I struggle to do justice to this with the camera, especially when walking with a friend and not wanting to keep them waiting around for too long. But I soon stopped fretting about all that and just enjoyed the peace and quiet, chatting to the accompaniment of birdsong and bubbling water. We're lucky to have all this on the doorstep.
