A VISITOR AND DEFINITELY NOT TINY!

When out in the garden this morning I was alerted to a strange bird call.

Oscar was barking so I scanned the tree next to the house but looking up I thought I could see movement on the top rampart of the church.  I rushed in for the binoculars and this is what I saw.

Not sure whether it is a young Peregrine falcon or a sparrow hawk.  It is difficult to get the scale as the bird is a long way away.

Having gone onto "Martock chat", several people have spotted it taking pigeons and sparrows.  It sat through heavy rain, poor thing but later it was gone only to return late afternoon.

Sadly not there this morning (Wednesday), perhaps it just came for a rest!

Such excitement!!  Phoebe going for a groom this afternoon before our short holiday.
