Pedal if you want to go faster

We went to the Museum of Fairground Art in Paris today. It's an amazing private collection housed in a huge space in a former wine warehouse. We turned up not realising that you had to visit by appointment only, but luckily a group tour in French was about to start and they allowed us to join it.

The guide was a real enthusiast and despite having very little French we managed to get the gist of what he was saying. In any case, fun is a universal language and part of the experience is that you get to play some of the old fairground games (like the Racing Waiters game) and go on some of the carousels, including this beautiful British made piece called the Velocipede. It has been lovingly restored and it was joyous to ride on it with a group of adults and children all whooping with excitement.
