Willapa Bay

After a walk on the “our” beach ( which continues for 28 miles!). we headed to the top of this peninsula to the wildlife refuge ( on the map) for a walk on Willapa Bay where all,the oyster farms are..and many birds migrate through.  Mostly we saw snowy plovers... .great salt marshes and good examples of how the pines finally take over. (Other extra) ...it’s a walk thru the woods.   Extra is a baby seal we spotted, and then told these fellows who came along about it... they stayed quite awhile and were on their phone a lot... I’m wondering if they were trying a rescue.   It’s possible mom wasn’t far but we do have too much experience with abandoned baby harbor seals.   Had our lunch on this beach and by the time we returned to our cabin we were so tired we had a nap...Devine, with windows open listening to the ocean.   Then it was time for dinner at a lovely restaurant in Seaview... ( looked pretty full to me. )used to be the train depot in the late 19th C.    Old houses and cottages all over. And a lot of Lewis and Clark history here but we’ve been to the excellent interpretative center above the dangerous entrance to the Columbia river. 
Nice day. Easing into this “new normal”   Nice to know I can do it :-).    It’s so weird with everyone still masked up everywhere. But it’s early in the season here and there were very few people in our place.
