Tiny Tuesday: Ladybird

Regular followers of my journal would guess that, when freespiral set "Tiny Animal" as today's TT challenge, I wouldn't be able to resist the temptation to blip a dead insect. My Editor spotted a few deceased ladybirds on the floor of one of the spare bedrooms, so I set to work with the macro lens + Raynox add-on lens: this is a 25-layer focus stack, bracketed by the camera but stacked in Photoshop (the Olympus can stack a maximum of 15 layers: it can bracket up to 999 but I thought that was a bit extravagant!!). So here's the somewhat gory result.

I'm late in blipping as we had an evening outing - yes, an outing!! - wow! - arranged by the camera club. There were more than 6 of us but we hung around in suitable groups and it was lovely to see some of our pals face to face (well, not too close face to face). The only thing was that the heavens opened for the first hour of our little outing so we got a little damp. However for the second hour the rain stopped so we had a chance to dry out a bit.

The outing was to Seaton Sluice, between Whitley Bay & Blyth. The first extra is of the little harbour, looking towards Blyth (and yes, that is a "mermaid" on the bank!). The second extra is a moody shot of 3 of the wind turbines: it was so murky that the autofocus couldn't cope, the photo required a fair bit of processing back home to show them up better.
