Mouse's Ears

That's what the Finns call the very first show of leaves on the Birch trees and true enough they are small enough to suit a mouse. This morning this particular birch had mouse's ears and catkins.
The temperature suddenly jumped up from its regular 10 degrees to a more summery 24 during the day and by evening most of the trees are beginning to look green for the first time this year.
Fingers Crossed. Summer may have arrived without bothering to wait for Spring.
