experiment with flash

I'm experimenting after reading strobist and suddenly becoming obsessed with using the flash even when facing the sun. I got this (very) wrong, but I'm aware there's a trick where you can get a foreground subject and background both evenly lit by using the flash, without needing multiple exposures.

I should probably get good at the basics before trying stuff like this, ah well, it's going to be a sloooow learning process....
