What a day

Well over 25°C in the shade... too hot to carry out any form of work, so I didn't. Even the evening walk with Luna at around 19:30 was too warm, but the view of the Zugspitze and Alps was lovely.

Very upset to see the mechanical grass drying unit has started operations with the farmers delivering their first loads of mown grass to make into grass pellets. I simply don't understand the mentality. The grass has barely started growing, none of the maize/corn planted weeks ago has made any sign of appearing, and yet out they are golf course mowing every bit of meadow they have to make feed that has no benefit to the health of the cow but simply artificially boosts the milk production. In its own way, animal cruelty. I won't start on its effect to wildflowers, insects or ground nesting birds!
