Killing time
Rain rained, Angie out in the morning for a walk with Luna had to break it off twice as thunderstorms came. She reported the village's new flood overflow system was just centimetres away from having its first test. We also found our back-up cellar pump was called into action as the groundwater rose so high and was just starting to seep in.
However, it did eventually stop in the afternoon and nothing serious happened. Somehow the weather didn't inspire me to take a photo and as Angie wanted to exercise the horses, she also did the evening outing with Luna.
So today, the mantle piece clock I referred to two days ago. Not a good photo as taken with flash at 15 minutes to midnight when I realised I had no photo for the day. Really thrilled to hear it announcing the time every 15 minutes. It was still working before the repair but had somehow not got to winding it up regularly. Now it's shining again, I suspect it will be in use 24/7. Bet my father would be thrilled to hear the chimes that he would have heard from birth in 1913. It was almost the only family heirloom he inherited as he had four older sisters and was himself abroad when the "family silver" was divided out.
