Bluebells at Ashton Court
Walked there with a friend this morning. Saw bluebells, wild garlic, rhododendrons in flower, and trees ranging from still bare and in bud to fully opened. Ashton Court was a private estate til 1959 when the council bought it. Though why one family needed 850 acres is beyond me. It’s now for the people of Bristol to walk and enjoy. Some events take place there - the international balloon fiesta (hot-air not party balloons!) and a weekly park run. There used to be a full-on music festival - I remember seeing Madness one year - but it went bankrupt sadly.
