Camas is blooming
This from The Oregon Encyclopedia about Camas: "The sweet bulbs of Common Camas are considered by many to be a Northwest native food delicacy. The taste is often compared to a baked pear, fig or sweet potato, and can even be used to sweeten other foods. The longer they're cooked, the sweeter they get." Well, I've never attempted to harvest or eat any, but the flowers are a delight year after year.
Had a delightful Mothers Day; brunch with the daughters and their families, phone calls with the sons. Then a restful afternoon and evening with John, walking where Camas blooms.
